How to do it

  1. Lie flat on your back on the floor or a mat, with your legs straight and arms extended overhead. Your body should be fully extended.
  2. Keep your core tight and engaged. This is your starting position.
  3. Simultaneously lift your legs and torso off the ground, keeping your legs straight and arms extended. You should aim to bring your hands towards your feet, creating a 'V' shape with your body. Keep your lower back pressed into the floor for as long as possible before lifting.
  4. At the top of the movement, your balance should be on your glutes and lower back.
  5. Slowly and with control, lower your legs and torso back to the starting position. Do not let your feet or hands touch the ground between repetitions if possible, to maintain tension.
  6. Exhale as you lift and inhale as you lower.
