Walking Lunge (Dumbbell)

A compound movement that trains your quadriceps, done with a dumbbell. Your glutes, hamstrings and calves help out.

How to do it

  1. Stand upright with your feet hip-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand at your sides with palms facing your body. Keep your core tight and chest up.
  2. Take a large step forward with one leg, lowering your hips until both knees are bent at approximately a 90-degree angle. The front knee should be directly over your ankle, and the back knee should hover just above the floor.
  3. Ensure your torso remains upright throughout the movement, avoiding leaning forward or backward.
  4. Push off the heel of your front foot and simultaneously bring your back leg forward to step directly into the next lunge with the opposite leg.
  5. Continue alternating legs, moving forward as if walking. Each step is one repetition.
