Ring Push Up

How to do it

  1. Set up gymnastic rings at a height where you can comfortably perform a push-up with your feet on the ground. The lower the rings, the harder the exercise will be.
  2. Grab the rings with an overhand grip, palms facing each other (neutral grip). Your hands should be slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
  3. Position your body in a straight line from head to heels, similar to a regular push-up position, with your arms fully extended and supporting your weight.
  4. Engage your core and glutes to maintain a rigid body. This is your starting position.
  5. Inhale and slowly lower your chest towards the rings by bending your elbows. Allow your elbows to flare out slightly but keep them relatively tucked to protect your shoulders.
  6. Continue lowering until your chest is at or slightly below the level of the rings, feeling a stretch in your chest.
  7. Exhale and powerfully push back up to the starting position by extending your elbows, ensuring the rings remain stable and your body stays in a straight line.
  8. Squeeze your chest at the top of the movement. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
