How to do it

  1. Lie on your back on a mat, keeping your lower back pressed into the floor. You can place your hands under your glutes for support or by your sides.
  2. Lift both legs a few inches off the floor, keeping them straight. Engage your core to prevent your lower back from arching.
  3. Keeping your core tight and legs straight, raise one leg towards the ceiling while simultaneously lowering the other leg closer to the floor (without touching it).
  4. Immediately reverse the movement, like scissor blades, bringing the raised leg down and the lowered leg up.
  5. Continue alternating legs in a controlled, fluid motion. Breathe steadily throughout the exercise.
