How to do it

  1. Adjust the machine so that the pad rests against the bottom of your heel or the sole of your foot when your knee is slightly bent and your body is leaning forward slightly.
  2. Stand facing the machine, holding onto the handles for support. Place one foot against the pad, keeping your standing leg slightly bent.
  3. Keeping your core tight and your back straight, slowly push the padded leg backward and slightly upward, contracting your glute.
  4. Extend your leg as far back as comfortable, focusing on squeezing your glute at the top of the movement.
  5. Slowly return the leg to the starting position, controlling the movement and resisting the weight as it comes forward.
  6. Complete the desired number of repetitions for one leg, then switch to the other leg.
