How to do it

  1. Stand with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart, toes pointed out at about a 45-degree angle.
  2. Hold a kettlebell with both hands, letting it hang straight down between your legs with your arms fully extended. Keep your chest up and shoulders back.
  3. Initiate the movement by pushing your hips back and bending your knees, allowing your torso to lean forward slightly while maintaining a straight back. Ensure your knees track in the same direction as your toes.
  4. Lower your body as if you are sitting into a chair, keeping the kettlebell hanging vertically. Go down until your thighs are parallel to the floor or slightly below, or as far as your flexibility allows without rounding your back.
  5. Pause briefly at the bottom of the squat.
  6. Drive through your heels, extending your hips and knees to return to the starting position. Squeeze your glutes at the top.
  7. Breathe in as you lower and exhale as you push back up.
