How to do it

  1. Begin with 5-10 minutes of light cardiovascular activity to elevate your heart rate and increase blood flow (e.g., jogging in place, cycling, jumping jacks).
  2. Perform dynamic stretches and mobility drills focusing on major muscle groups and joints. Examples include arm circles, leg swings, torso twists, cat-cow, bird-dog, walking lunges, and bodyweight squats.
  3. Focus on controlled movements through a full range of motion, gradually increasing the intensity of the movements.
  4. Optionally, perform a few sets of the actual exercises you are about to do with very light weight or bodyweight to prepare specific movement patterns.
  5. The warm-up should leave you feeling warmer and more mobile, but not fatigued.
